The Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC) at the University of Kashmir and the Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA) Charitable Trust have signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU aims to empower economically disadvantaged students by providing them with access to top National Law Universities (NLUs) through comprehensive support and training.The main goal of this partnership is to find and assist marginalized students who have a keen interest in law. The initiative will offer sensitization sessions, intensive training, sponsorships, scholarships, and mentorship to guide these students towards successful careers in law. As part of this effort, the University of Kashmir will establish an official IDIA Chapter, known as the “Kashmir Chapter.”Together, CCPC and IDIA will undertake various projects, workshops, seminars, and initiatives to promote legal awareness, career planning, and community engagement. The partnership will also extend its efforts to local schools, where they will conduct sensitization programs and coaching sessions for students in grades 10, 11, and 12.The MoU was signed in the presence of notable university officials, including the Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofer Khan. Prof. Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Prof. Nazir, Director of CCPC, signed the agreement on behalf of the university, while IDIA was represented by CEO Sabah Mistry and Director of IDIA J&K, Suhaib Salman.
